Waynesfield-Goshen    Reynoldburg Tomato Festival   Akron Baseball

Almost 15 years ago Joey Hall of "Father Son and Friends" and Ralph Borror "Abraham Lincoln" began having fun playing tricks on each other. Shawn Hall and Sheri Manthei "Mrs. Lincoln" seem to always be involved. Here "Abe" with the help of the Seneca County Muzzle loaders, tickle his funny bone. Everyone knew "Abe" was going to wear the Kilt except Joey. Kim, the new fiddle player for the Group, laughs in the background. Click on picture to see larger image.

New this year was the Soapbox Program on the Folk Festival Stage. Here Mark Twain and Abraham Lincoln talk with each other and whoever came along. Even the Chief of a local Indian tribe came along and performed a "No-Rain Dance" to make sure the Rain stayed in the sky. A little humor, A little History, and a good time was had by all.

Mrs. Lincoln (Sheri Manthei) talks with people as they pass by the Lincoln Camp. Displayed under the fly of the tent are the pictures of Mathew Brady. One of the best photographers in the world. Mathew recorded the Civil War both North and South. Also the Big tent is Abe's sleeping quarters for the events he travels to each year. Eight feet high, 10' by 12' the size of the tent with a 12' be 16' fly. Made of cotton duct with black trim.

There seems not to be one person on earth that doesn't enjoy "Father, Son and Friends". Joey Hall is father. He's the one in the bird feather hat, given to him by the Seneca County Muzzle Loaders. Of course he picks on everybody, and guess what, everybody picks on Him. You need to come around and see for yourself. It is fun and the Music is as  good as it gets.

The Tomato Festival

The Tomato Festival was held in Reynoldsburg this year on the 8th, 9th, & 10th of September. It has been going on for many years. Nancy {above in the center} asked me to be a part of this years event a couple of weeks before the festival. Barbara, her daughter, drove me in the parade. She also had much to do with the Queen pageant. Both worked on the Queens Luncheon on Sunday were Queens from all over Ohio attended.

AWaynesfield-Goshen Local Schools Civil War Day

September the 29th was the return to this school just south of Lima. These students made the day. Setup and tear down were greatly speeded up with there help. A big thank you go out to these fine students. In this picture we have just completed the tear down and I am ready to depart for home. About an hour ahead of schedule. Boy was I happy. I almost forgot to tell you that General Robert E. Lee stopped by to say goodbye. On the Right is the last group of the day and they were great.

This is looking out from under the Fly of the Lincoln Tent. The school is in the background

Joe Foster the History teacher put this day together with the help of a lot of people. A day that will never be forgotten by the students.

It never fails. Someone always has to ask "Is the beard real". This young man asked the question. And as you can see. He is getting to do the beard teat. And No! He couldn't pull it off. He did try pretty hard though.
