Thomas Lincoln
| Inside the Museum is the cabin that ABRAHAM LINCOLN was born in. He lived in this cabin for just two years. The home was bought on December 12, 1808 by Thomas Lincoln. He paid $200.00 cash. Thomas and his wife Nancy and Daughter Sarah moved into a one-room Log Cabin. Abraham was born February 12, 1809. This was Hardin County, Kentucky and is now the County of LaRue. | |
| This is one of the prettiest sites in all the United States in the summer time. As you look up this long stairway to the top of the hill you will notice there are 56 steps in this grand stairway. One for r each year ABRAHAM LINCOLN walked this earth | |
| THIS IS THE SINKING SPRING The Lincoln Family moved here before Abraham was born. This was their main source of water. This was a very nice place to live but the land was not that good. Abraham didn't remember living here but did remember the Knob Creek Farm. That would be the next place the Lincoln's would live in Kentucky. They would live there for about five years. Even today Sinking Spring Farm is a very peaceful place and very pretty, no matter what time of year you come. The visitors center is very near. The walk to the cabin is not to far. |
